It may seem obvious but early and sustainable RTW is the best strategy to minimising the financial liabilities of an injury in your workplace. It is simple therefore to adopt a RTW strategy of ensuring injured employees do not lose time off work or return to work at all costs regardless of what duties they can perform.
Poor RTW planning can result in a failed return to work and can further setback your injured worker’s progress and dent their confidence. At the same time it is important to ensure that when an injured employee does come back to work that we have meaningful duties available which add value to them and to the workplace. Occupational rehabilitation is not only about ‘being’ at work.
Consultative and outcome focused
Workplace HR Solutions can discuss return to work options with your injured employee and their treating doctor and develop a suitable rehabilitation and RTW plan to try and maintain the employee at work where safe and practicable to do so. Any proposed RTW Plan will be developed in consultation with all parties, be durable, add value to both the injured employee and your workplace and will be progressive and outcome focussed providing for a return to pre-injury duties and hours within agreed time frames.
We can continue to be involved in the return to work process for as long as you require or can provide coaching and mentoring to your RTW Coordinator as required ensuring the plan is progressing toward agreed goals.
